Obituary of J.O. Shaw

~~J. O. Shaw 84 of Cooper passed away Monday October 17, 2017.
J.O. was born May 23, 1933 in Pecan Gap, Texas to O.J. and Edith “Hayes” Shaw.  They have preceded him in death as well as a granddaughter; Jennifer Shaw.
Married Patsy Conley Shaw on September 28, 1953.  J.O. was on a 5 day pass on his way to serve in the Korean War.  They were the second couple married in the First United Methodist Church in Cooper.
In 1957 J.O. Began a 30 year career as a dairy farmer. For 12 of those years he also held a position with the U.S. Postal Service in Cooper. He retired in 1987 from the dairy business to continue on as a cattle buyer & rancher for another almost 30 years .
J.O. was a lifetime member of the Cooper First United Methodist Church.
J.O. served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Red Henderson Post 483, Cooper, Texas.  J.O. loved sports especially the Cooper Bulldogs. 
Survivors include Wife; Patsy Shaw of Cooper, two sons; Joe Shaw and wife Kim, Blake Shaw and wife Kris both of Cooper, a daughter, Tammy Shaw and husband Randy Sahm of Denton, five grandchildren; Jeromy Shaw and wife Angel, Joni Zertuche  and husband Abel, Brandon Shaw and wife Ashley, Adam Shaw and wife Jenny, Chelsea Baylee Walker and husband Grant, 10 great grandchildren; Chole Shaw, Jaxon Shaw, Gavin Zertuche, Jack Zertuche, Savannah Shaw, Spencer Shaw, Ryder Shaw, Easton Shaw, Slade Shaw and Allie Walker.
Visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. till time of service at the church.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 19, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church.  Pastors, Henry Suche, Steve Cook and Mark Moore will officiate.  
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, with military honors provide by the Hopkins County Military Coalition.
Serving as pallbears will be Jeromy Shaw, Brandon Shaw, Adam Shaw, Abel Zertuche, Grant Walker and Drew Conley.
