Obituary of Billy Alton Bangs

BILLY ALTON BANGS Billy Alton Bangs, 78, of Dallas, passed away, Sunday, December 11, 2016, at East Texas Medical Center in Athens, Texas. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Justin Hoggatt officiating and interment will be at New Klondike Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM on Sunday until service time at the funeral home. Gary Ray will lead music for services. Mr. Bangs was born in Cooper, Texas, May 7, 1938. He was the son of Louis Bangs and Pauline Bangs. He was a Senior Systems Test Tech for Forney International. Mr. Bangs grew up at Buckner’s Orphans Home in Dallas and was a member of Samuel Place Baptist Church. Survivors: 3 daughters: Kelly & Gary Ray – Krugerville, Texas Sondra Bangs – Gun Barrel City, Texas Tamela Bangs – Zion, Illinois Sister: Yvonne Turner – Mesquite, Texas Brother: H.L. Bangs – Conroe, Texas Six Grandchildren: Alex, Maria, Jamie, Josh, Jade, Kiera and Minion. Two great-grandchildren: Brooke and Briggs Pallbearers will be: H. L. Bangs, James Arthur “Cotton” Barfield, Ronnie Hoggatt, Al Hoggatt, Rodney Bangs, Sondra Bangs and Tamela Bangs. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Betty Jo Witt and Joyce Barfield.
