Obituary of Hoyle LaFray Mitchell

Hoyle LaFray Mitchell 83 of Paris left holes in our hearts Tuesday December 20, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday December 23, 2016 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery. Gary Regan assisted by Eugene Adams will officiate. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Serving as pallbears are, Clifton Mitchell, Chris Petty, Jeremy Crawford, Danny Wall, Tim Barcus, Jeff Landers, honorary pallbears are Gene Patterson, J.O. Shaw, Don Smith, Joseph Gillean and Lewis Anderson. LaFray was born December 1, 1933 and raised in Lake Creek, TX. Son of Lowell Berk and Bessie “Petitfils” Mitchell. They have preceded him in death as well as a brother Jerry Berk Mitchell. He married the love of his life Mary Dee Jackson February 14, 1954 for 62 years. LaFray was a Dairyman, Farmer and Rancher retiring in 1997 and moved to Gadston . Becoming bored worked for Delta County for several years. LaFray leaves behind his wife Mary Dee Mitchell of Gadston, four children; Shelby (Rick) Scarbough of Duncanville, Netti Mitchell of Paris, Berk Mitchell of Lake Creek, Scot (Kelli) Mitchell of Giddings. Six grandchildren; Chaney, Krin (Jeremy), Kristen (Chris), Charla (Danny), Clifton (Meagan), Tyler, eleven great grandchildren; Cryslin, Braiden, Kaylie, Jaycie, Calissa, Brenna, Brett, Braxton, Grayson, Brennon and Eli. LaFray was a member of the Lake Creek Methodist Church and a Sunday school director, was a director with the Lake Creek Farmers CO-OP Gin, a director of the Associated Milk Producers, a Farm Bureau Director and a member of the Delmar Independent School Board.
