Obituary of Edrie Smith

~~Edrie Tharp Smith was born to James H. (Jim) Tharp and May Unsell Tharp on August  21, 1918 in Cooper.  She died in Cooper on May 15, 2017.  She attended and graduated from Cooper High School. After graduation she worked as a telephone operator in the Cooper office. She moved to Ft Worth to work as a civilian employee for the Air Force where she met and married the love of her life, Dalton O. (Smitty) Smith. They were married 56 years, making their home in Ft Worth the majority of those years.
Edrie was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, George Tharp, James Tharp and Floyd Tharp, and one sister, Willie Jo Tharp as well as one nephew, Jeff Tharp.
She is survived by her sister, Audrie Tharp of Cooper,  two sisters-in-law, Jean Tharp of Ft Worth and Diane Tharp of Wills Point as well as five nephews, Ronnie Tharp, Billy Tharp,  David Tharp, all of Ft Worth, Keith Tharp of Fruitvale and Mike Pierce of Katy.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m Wednesday May 17, 2017 at Oaklawn Cemetery with Jim Hackney officiating.
