Obituary of Ernest Junior Prater

~~Ernest Prater, 90, of Garland passed away Saturday August 26, 2017.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel, with Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.  Tom O’Neal will officiate. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm  prior to services at Delta Funeral Home Chapel.
Ernest was born November 24, 1926 in Sarepta, Louisiana to Herbert Lee Prater and Ella Mae Elledge Prater.  They have preceded him in death as well as his wife, Patsy Jean Prater,  sister, Racine Townley, brothers ; John L. Prater and James Prater, grandchildren; Amanda Cruz and Michael Prater.
He is survived by his daughter; Victoria Prater of Garland, Texas, son; Brian Prater and wife, Susie, of Garland, Texas, son; Joe Prater and wife, Brenda, of Garland, Texas, son; David Prater and wife, Sandra, of Rockport, Texas, brother, Paul Prater of Phoenix, Arizona. 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Ernest worked in the Shipping Department of Naturalite Manufacturing from 1962 to 1991 when he retired.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, Joshua Prater, Treveon Johnson, Brian Prater, Jr., Kendrick Chandler, Robert Cruz and Taven Johnson.
