Obituary of Jerrell Wayne Wheat

Jerrell Wayne Wheat, 78, of Cooper, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Paris, Texas.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2 pm at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dean Eudy officiating and interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to services in the Chapel.

Jerrell was born in Cooper, Texas on April 7, 1939 to Sammy and Mabel Talley Wheat. He was a school bus driver and served his country in the United States Army National Guard.  He was a member of the Pittsburg Rotary Club and the Pittsburg Pirates Football Booster Club.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Adams Wheat.

Survivors include his son, Jeff Wheat and wife, Laura of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandson, Austin Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Hershel Wheat and wife, Bennie of Tyler, Texas;  nephew, Joe Wheat and wife, Tonya of Tyler, Texas; niece, LeAnn Barron and husband, Dean of Tyler, Texas and several nieces and nephews, brother in law, Eddie Adams and wife Judy of Euless, Texas, sister in law, Barbara Curdy of Dallas, Texas and his faithful companion, Pepper.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Austin Williams, Joe Wheat, Marion Miller, Butch Burns, Billy Jack Silman and Benny Davis.
