Obituary of Kenneth Ray Cockrum
Kenneth Ray “Chock” Cockrum, 82, of Paris, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in Paris, Texas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Lester Nunley officiating and interment will be in East Delta Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to services in the Chapel.
Kenneth was born in Slabtown, Texas on June 9, 1935 to Jap and Clarcey Roebuck Cockrum. He was a butcher for Campbell’s Soup factory in Paris, Texas for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Jessie Marie Akard Cockrum; daughter, Janie Simpson and husband, Greg of Paris, Texas and daughter, Marie Turner and husband, Keith of Mansfield, Texas. Three grandchildren; Ryan Simpson, Austin Simpson and Brandan Turner. Sisters, Elizabeth Cockrum and Kathleen Umphress and brother, Chester Cockrum.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jake Cockrum and J.W. Cockrum and sister, Maybelle McFadden.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Ryan Simpson, Austin Simpson, Brandan Turner, Keith Turner, James Dewayne Simpson and Jerry Akard.
