Obituary of Joy Ann Flanery

Joy Ann Flanery, Age 49 of Cooper, TX passed into eternal life during the morning hours of April 18, 2018.  Joy was born March 14, 1969 to Hubert Ray Flanery and Joy Bell Gilbert Flanery.  Her father preceded her in death as well as a brother Nicholas Edward Shanahan and fiancé Tim Emerson. Joy had a good childhood and was raised by her father and step-mother, Cindee Lee Portner Flanery.  On July 18, 2012, Joy received a special blessing of being a mother to River Gail Emerson. River was Joys meaning to life. She lived and breathed her daughter. Joy will be remembered as being a great sister and friend to all that she loved and all that loved her. Joy lived her life to the fullest and loved beyond belief. 

Joy loved singing, dancing and most of all spending time with her daughter River.                         

Joy is survived by her daughter, River Gail Emerson of Cooper, TX. son, Conner Emerson of Dallas, TX.  grandson, Hunter Neal Emerson, step mother, Mrs. Cindee Portner Flanery of Cooper, TX. five brothers: Kenneth Ray Flanery and wife Shantel of Cooper, TX, Timothy Flanery and wife Amie Flanery of Point, TX,  Joseph Christoper Lee Flanery of Klondike, TX,   James Martin Shanahan and fiance Kelsey Doty of Paris, TX, Joshua Michael Shanahan of Cooper, TX. and one sister Melody Jean Rogers and husband Aaron Rogers of Trinidad, TX.

Joy will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Sunday April 29, 2018 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel.
