Obituary of Jay Lawayne Tanzy

Jay Lawayne Tanzy 67 of Alba passed away Saturday June 9, 2018.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 12, 2018 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel.  Chaplain Denny Burris will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Tuesday June 12, 2018 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny L. Culpepper, Watt Attaway, Waylon Attaway, David Owens, Dan Anderson, Chris Sealey and honorary pallbearer, Jackie Attaway.

Jay was born April 12, 1951 in Dallas, Texas to J.L. and Ruby “Hornsby” Tanzy.  They  preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Tanzy of Alba, TX, daughter; Joelle Vercher of Rowlett, TX, two sons; Jason Tanzy and wife April of Garland, TX, Jacob Tanzy of Wylie, TX, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Jay married Sandra Poteet January 3, 1969 in Dallas, TX.  He served his country in the National Guard for 6 years, was a member of the NRA and attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
