Obituary of Walter Benson Burkham

Walter Burkham, 84, of Ben Franklin passed away Monday July 16, 2018.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Cooper with Reverend Johnny Witherspoon officiating.  Graveside will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Malakoff Cemetery, Malakoff, Texas.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Delta Funeral Home.

Walter was born August 28, 1933 in Greenville, Texas. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his first wife, Mary, son, Danny Crumrine, two sisters and four brothers.

He married Tommie Ann Hustead on February 24, 2003 in Texarkana, Arkansas.  He was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Tommie Ann Burkham; daughter, Laci Burkham of Ben Franklin; daughter, Brenda Long of Cooper, Texas; son, Roy Burkham of Sulphur Springs, Texas; son, Perry Harvey of Ben Franklin, Texas; brother, Frank Burkham of Greenville, Texas; sister, Mary Warlick of Plano, Texas; sister, Annie Reese of Athens, Texas; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Martello, John Holt, Perry Harvey, Vernon Hustead and Marion Washam.
