Edgar was born June 28, 1944 in San Antonio, TX to Opal Taylor and Mary Elizabeth “Foster” Preas. They have preceded him in death.

Edgar is survived by his wife; Sherry Preas of Klondike, two sons; Ethan Derek Preas and wife Patricia of Commerce, Jeremy Seth Preas and wife Kristan Hemingway of Grand Prairie, five grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, brother; Bryan Thomas Preas of Battleground, WA and sister; Julie Preas Lovell of Ben Franklin.

Edgar married Sherry Mendenhall January 31, 1965 in Cooper, Texas. He worked as a Corporate Operations Manager in the Oilfield industry.
