Ronnie and Marva Sansing posted a condolence
Tuesday, February 27, 2018
Ronnie's aunt Billie Jo was special, first to the Sansing family she was born into, and to many others throughout her life. She remembered that as a child, she sat on the front porch and sang while her brother, Winfred, Ronnie's father, played the guitar. That early love of music resulted in many years of singing in the church choir, a service she loved and which brought her much joy.
Her marriage to C.H. (Jelly) Choate was a lifelong commitment of love and caring for each other. She and Jelly became aunt and uncle to a "whole bunch" of nieces and nephews on both sides of their families, and are remembered fondly by all. They hosted reunions for both their families for many years, making memories for generations. She cared for Jelly through serious illness with tenderness and care, and mourned his passing in 2005.
Special friendships made in High School in Cooper, Texas lasted a lifetime. Lola Nell Morgan was one of those. They lived in neighboring homes, and relied on each other's help throughout the years.
Zelda Fisher, Laura Jo Taylor, and Nelda Skinner continued their high school friendships through later years, and could be seen together at church and going out with Lola Nell and Billie.
Her love and commitment to her church was exemplified by her service on the church Hospitality Committee, providing lunches to the families of deceased friends. The friends on that committee loved Billie and spoke of her dedication to service in the church.
Her life was simply beautiful because she led a life of beautiful simplicity in service to God, family, and friends.
Billie Jo, we'll miss you.
